KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Kanawha County deputies are investigating allegations of excessive force after an incident involving the Cedar Grove police chief Monday. Deputies were called to the parking lot of Capitol Recycling in Shrewsbury on Monday afternoon after a reported physical altercation between a man and Cedar Grove Police Chief Jack Ice, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

California supplier pleads guilty to trafficking meth
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Federal authorities have another major drug supplier behind bars as part of an extensive, long-running operation. Alejandro Gallegos, also known as “Alex,” “Rooster,” “G” and “Primo,” 41, of Hacienda Heights, California, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine. Gallegos admitted to a major supplier role in a drug trafficking organization (DTO) that operated in the Charleston area.
