HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ - The 12U Girls Softball Major League team is headed to the Championship round.

The team has had a string of big successes over the past few weeks.  First, they beat Morristown in a best of three series. Then they went on to win the Section tournament in a double elimination round.  They had to beat two teams, which they did, propelling them to the State Tournament.

President of the League John Williams is beaming with pride. "I often joke that I have 420 kids", he told TAPinto.

Four teams were/are competing for the State Championship.  Along with Hanover Township there was Elmora, who they beat 10-2.  They will now face the winners of Audobon vs. Toms River.  They already beat Toms River over the weekend 3-0 which got them a bye for the next round. The championship game will be held at Main Memorial Park in Clifton on Tuesday.

Last year the girls got to the State Championships but lost to Toms River so there is alot of motivation for the team to bring home the title.

The team has a deep bench of 10 year olds so the future remains bright. The head coach of the team is Jeremy Neuer.  He is assisted by coaches Pete Foster and Sean Hendricks.
