Let's celebrate the lohud Athlete of the Year and the 2024 Whelan All-Sports Award winners
Back in 2018 we created our Tom Whelan All-Sports Awards to honor a longtime champion of scholastic athletics and highlight a select list of winners from the previous school year. Tommy was an old-school character who's ability to share compelling stories made him welcome on any sideline or any barstool. He could recite names and numbers of the countless athletes he chronicled across multiple generations. Whelan made everyone feel important.
Results Announced for 10th Annual Marauder Trotter
A total of 207 runners/walkers participated in the 10th annual Marauder Trotter 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Dunkirk High School Class of 1989 on Saturday, July 6th at Wright Park. The event included a 5K run/walk, 10-year birthday carnival, DJ Joe Gould, birthday present silent auction, balloon bust bottle pull game under the direction of D.J. Wilson, Scott Mekus, Jennifer Ellman, Terri Vasquez, Molly Pagan and Matthew Woelfle and Trackqua Timing.
Rotary Club Sees Great Turnout for Fly-In Breakfast
