Son Travels 5,000 Miles to Surprise Dad on His Birthday With Hilarious Disguise

A son traveled 5,000 miles to surprise his dad on his birthday, a hilarious disguise.

When Tim O’Brien decided to fly his family from Sacramento, California, USA, to Cork, Ireland, for his 80th birthday, his son Cormac didn’t think he’d be able to make it.

Heartwarming footage filmed earlier in August shows Tim enjoying a drink with family in a pub when a man wearing glasses and a cap walked over with a pint for him.

After saying, ‘Hear, it’s your birthday,’ Cormac, 46, whipped off the disguise, leaving the table to cheer while his dad can be seen happily laughing.

Cormac said: “It’s hard to make an 80-year-old giggle like that, so it was totally worth it.

“I wasn’t able to make it out with the rest of the family but went through hell to come here with my daughter at the last minute.

“I had to make three trips to Los Angeles to expedite my passport and then we had 48 hours of delays where we had to sleep on airport floors to make it.

“Dad is an Irish immigrant that has lived the American dream so we’ve always been fortunate to come to Ireland often to experience the incredibly rich culture and roots.

“It was very challenging to keep the surprise from 40 family members that mostly live in Ireland, but it was amazing to see them all and have my daughter with me.”
