On July 16, the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to four German Shepherd mix puppies found abandoned at a local church. Fortunately, the pups were safely rescued and will be put up for adoption. Moreover, authorities have arrested and charged two individuals connected to the crime.

Earlier this month, members of the Journey Fellowship Church in Haralson County, Georgia, noticed several canines at the back of the church. They notified the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office a few days later. According to Fox 5 News, the church member who reported the incident noted that the German Shepherd mix puppies had been abandoned about a week before.

Officials were able to identify two suspects after watching security camera footage. The entire incident was caught on camera, showing the vehicle quite clearly. The car had a driver and a passenger when the pups were abandoned. Authorities identified John McDell Williams and Marie Crowder as the suspects. The two Georgia residents have been arrested and face one count of abandonment of animals and four counts of cruelty to animals.

Fortunately, the Haralson County Animal Shelter safely rescued all four abandoned German Shepherd mix puppies. They are estimated to be about three to four months old and ready for adoption. Interested people can contact the shelter to take them in.

In a similar case, a puppy was abandoned in a dumpster in Brattleboro, Vermont. Unfortunately, the little one wasn’t as lucky as he later passed away, per WCAX. The Humane Society of the United States is requesting the public for more information on the incident, offering a $5,000 reward for the same.

Although the pup was rescued from the dumpster, it was too late, and lifesaving measures couldn’t save him. He was only four weeks old and was named Judge by his rescuers. While the incident was caught on camera, authorities couldn’t identify the vehicle and the suspect due to the poor lighting.
