Full steam ahead for the Milton Home Coffee Roastery
Milton’s smallest coffee roastery is brewing up something special. The shed that houses Milton Home Coffee Roastery recently doubled in size to fit a refrigerator, additional furniture and more bags of coffee. As her business’ popularity grew since its opening in June 2023, owner Lara Ozden K. Ware recognized the need to expand her space to continue serving high-quality coffee from countries around the world.
Children’s Learning Garden celebrates annual Ladybug Day
Lewes in Bloom hosted its annual Ladybug Day celebration July 19, at the Children’s Learning Garden in Stango Park. About 70 children and their families arrived at 10:30 a.m. to pick vegetables, engage in arts and crafts and learn about Delaware’s state insect before releasing more than 3,000 live ladybugs.

M&T gives $5,000 grant to Rehoboth Art League
M&T Charitable Foundation gave a $5,000 grant to Rehoboth Art League in support of its visual arts outreach program. Through the outreach program, RAL brings arts experiences to Sussex County residents in areas most in need of opportunity. Developed in response to cuts made to arts education in public schools, the program now serves hundreds of students each year. During scheduled classes, art league instructors travel all over southern Delaware to work with children, seniors and other at-risk populations to offer free arts education. Scheduled classes allow participants a chance to create a variety of different fine art or craft projects in mediums including drawing, painting, collage, pottery, printmaking, jewelry making or textile work.
Mark Gratton’s musical journey continues at Goshen UMC in Milton

The new musical director at Goshen United Methodist Church in Milton, Mark Gratton discovered at a young age that he wanted to sing out and become someone who could teach others to do the same.
Historic Rehoboth Boardwalk barons is Aug. 1 lecture topic
Local historian Paul Lovett’s diorama, the Golden Age of Rehoboth Beach, is on view through Labor Day at the Rehoboth Beach Museum. It is a miniature model of the city circa 1910, when the railroad still ran down Rehoboth Avenue. A locomotive complete with smoke and whistle chugs down the main thoroughfare of the replica, as the real trains did until upgrades to Delaware roadways led automobiles to eclipse them as the preferred way to get to the beach.

FRUITLAND, Md. – A program on Delmarva is trying to help youth stay focused on the right path. At Off Street Sports Performance, youth have an opportunity to receive a high caliber of training to stay on the path to success. “I just come here and train strength conditioning every day, Monday through Friday during the week, I’ve been coming here since I was like eight years old with the kids. So it’s starting to pay off,” said Bryant Waters.
