Bike ‘N Brew Fest attracts nice crowd on great day
The annual Bike ‘N Brew Fest, held on Saturday as part of Oil City’s Oil Heritage Festival, boasted great weather and featured both biking and beer tasting activities. Coordinated by the Venango Area Chamber of Commerce, the event raises funds for the Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs Exchange (FLEX). Participants received a map of eight local points of interest to visit by bike, while others could collect a cooler bag with 17 craft beers or opt for VIP on-site tasting. Attendees were encouraged to share photos using the hashtag #ohbikenbrew2024. The event saw positive turnout and support from local breweries and sponsors, with notable participants like Jim and Rachel Abbott, owners of 4 Season Cycle bike shop, who attended for the third year. Kat Thompson from the chamber expressed gratitude for the community’s continued support.
Rumble Ponies Drop Series Finale Against Erie
The Rumble Ponies would make it back to back losses against the SeaWolves after being dealt a 6-3 loss on Sunday afternoon at Mirabito Stadium. Erie would get on the board in the third inning on three separate occasions and three separate ways. Starting off Julio Rodriguez would score off of a wild pitch to get the SeaWolves on the board before a sacrifice fly and ground out would put up two more runs.

In the arid expanse of Maricopa County, teams from Mesa, Gilbert, and the Superstition Fire Department converged on a storage yard conflagration near Apache Trail and Mountain Road, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. While no casualties have been reported, the cause behind the flames remains a shrouded mystery, as persistent as the smoke that rose high into the Arizona sky.
