Benton man killed in Marshall Co. collision
A Benton man was killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 68 West in Marshall County Friday. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, it happened near Darnall Road when a vehicle operated by 50-year-old Gedget Quigley of Paducah drifted into the westbound lane while traveling eastbound on U.S. 68.
Tennessee man faces drug charges after multi-county pursuit
A Tennessee man faces drug and other charges after a high-speed pursuit from Trigg County into Calloway County Monday morning. The Trigg County Sheriff's Office said the operator, 26-year-old Lemonte Newsome of Hendersonville, Tennessee, led officers at speeds around 120 mph as they pursued Newsome along US 68 into Calloway County.
Late night golf cart ride in Calvert City landed 3 teens in jail
A late-night golf cart ride in Calvert City landed three teens in jail. According to Calvert City Police, the cart was spotted with three people on board. One of the individuals was standing on the rear platform yelling as they traveled the golf cart trail. Police stopped them and said that the teens were under the influence of alcohol. They also allegedly saw several empty beer cans and some that were unopened in the cart.
Kuttawa man arrested for copper theft in Calvert City
A Kuttawa man has been arrested and charged in a copper theft in Calvert City. Calvert City Metals and Alloys called Calvert City Police on Friday to report a copper theft. CCMA staff told officers that an employee had allegedly scrapped large amounts of unique copper through a local recycling facility. Then on Sunday, police arrested 31-year-old Taylor Morgan Phelps of Kuttawa. Phelps is charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.
