Four county golfers place in Top 10 at Indiana Junior PGA Championship
Hamilton County golfers made an impact at the Boys Indiana Junior PGA Championship, which took place last Thursday and Friday at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru. Westfield senior-to-be Will Harvey finished third at the event. He tied for second with Whitestown’s Mac Myers at the end of the two-day, 36-hole tournament. Both golfers scored two under par 142s; Myers won a playoff for second place. Harvey’s highlights included an eagle on hole No. 6 during his first round; he also drained four birdies total for both of his rounds.
Clark County votes to consider new ambulance provider plans

SOUTHWEST DUBOIS SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The Southwest Dubois School Corporation held their regular board meeting on Thursday night in preparation for the coming school year. The Corporation announced that it was awarded a 2024 Digital Learning Grant for $50,000. The grant will be used to fund technology and curriculum to support the development of an E- sports program as part of its Digital Citizenship. Additionally, it will be used for Universal Design for a learning tool with Snap and Read, as well as Professional Development with HECC and Gaming Concepts.
Girl thrown off Indiana fair ride ‘headfirst’ prompts investigation
The Department of Homeland Security is investigating an amusement ride after a girl was thrown from it Monday at the Dubois County 4-H Fair in Huntingburg. Anna Deorto was on the ride with the 14-year-old girl. She said the two’s shared seatbelt was not secured properly, and ride workers skipped over their belt before starting the ride.
