Poconos property that ran as resort in 1920s just hit the market for $1.3M (PHOTOS)
A house that was built in 1890 by an English sea captain and served as a small resort in the 1920s is up for sale in the Poconos. The six-bedroom, 4.5-bath house sits on 50 acres at 6431 Franklin Hill Road in East Stroudsburg and hit the market last month. J.D. Lepeta, the listing agent, told lehighvalleylive.com on Tuesday the property, known as “Snowbird Farm,” was still available.
Stroudsburg passes property tax incentive to encourage downtown development
The Borough of Stroudsburg has moved to help stimulate development downtown by enacting a property tax incentive. In two public hearings during the council meeting on Tuesday, June 18, that lasted just over a combined 20 minutes, Stroudsburg Borough Council designated certain properties as eligible for Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) and unanimously approved the LERTA ordinance.
