The New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival August 9th-11th Is Creeping In
The New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival is approaching quickly. They will return August 9-11, 2024, at the NJ Expo Center in Edison, New Jersey. The event is rapidly picking up steam from years past. The con has hosted many celebrities in past years, and they are pulling no punches again this time. With guests including Ken Foree and Bill Moseley, to name a few, and four different reunions in one weekend, it’s already setting out to be a great time. The New Jersey Horror Con happens several times yearly, including the Horror Sideshow Market, a one-day flea market with fantastic guests and plenty of vendors.
Caldwell Borough Council Unanimously Approves a Police Director Over Multiple Objections
CALDWELL, NJ -- The Caldwell Borough Council unanimously approved on second reading an ordinance that now legislates that there be a civilian police director who will serve for at least two years and will lead the Caldwell Police Department (CPD) instead of a police chief, which has been the case since 1912. The borough had contracted with The Ambrose Group, LLC (TAG) a consulting firm based in Cedar Grove, to review, assess and make recommendations for the department in 2023. Officers responded to the area, contacted the involved party and advised him of the dangers of shooting a crossbow in that area. The male understood the concerns raised and left the scene voluntarily.
Thieves Snatch Cars’ Catalytic Converters
Four township residents reported in May that their cars’ catalytic converters had been stolen. Township police released the information on July 24. Sometime between May 22 and May 23, someone cut the catalytic converter from a car parked in the area of Victor Street. The converter’s value was estimated at $2,300.
