CHATHAM, NJ -- Former Marine and Morris County Sheriff's Office Detective Robert Forte was officially sworn in as a new member of the Chatham Township Police Department by Mayor Stacey Ewald on Tuesday night. A Rockaway Township man died due to his injuries days after he crashed his motorcycle in Lafayette on the Fourth of July, police said. Timothy Angle, 64, was driving a Victory motorcycle east on Monroe Road around 6 p.m. when he went off the roadway while negotiating a curve, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

Grammy nominated rapper Lil Uzi Vert recently visited a North Jersey exotic pet store and, after meeting and interacting with a few fun animals, he went home with a new pet. The 28-year-old rapper visited NJ Exotic Pets in Lodi on Monday in search of a pet pig, according to Christian Rivera, a spokesperson for the store. He looked around and interacted with some animals such as snakes, coatimundis and ferrets. However, they did not have pet pigs available at the time as adoptable pigs did not arrive at the store until Wednesday.

The Montclair community is coming together to support the family of Montclair School Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Ponds, by starting a college fund for his three sons.
