List of 4th of July Events in Central Texas
Killeen’s Red, White & Blue Music Festival will take place on Saturday, July 6, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., in the city’s downtown area, 200 East Avenue D. The festival will be hosting food trucks, a Jeep jam, live entertainment and a fun zone that the whole family can enjoy. The entire event will be free to the public and lawn chairs are welcome. The fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.

City of Killeen to open cooling center regularly
KILLEEN, Texas — The City of Killeen wants to help the public beat the heat by opening up a cooling center throughout the hot months. The city said it's partnering with Friends in Crisis Shelter, which is located at 412 E. TxDOT to begin $1.2 million project near Copperas Cove
AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation, or TxDOT, is slated to begin the construction of a new U-turn near Copperas Cove on Monday, July 8. According to TxDOT, the new U-turn will be within SH 9 and BU 190 intersection and will allow traffic going eastbound on SH 9 to head westbound on BU 190.
