Yadkinville parade, fireworks set for Saturday
Yadkinville will celebrate the July 4 holiday on Saturday with an evening of live music, food trucks, parade, and fireworks. The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. on East Elm Street in Yadkinville with the stage located in the town parking lot behind the Chamber of Commerce. City of Statesville experiencing moderate drought conditions; residents asked to conserve water
The City of Statesville is currently experiencing a Stage D1 Moderate Drought condition, as declared by the N.C. Drought Management Advisory Council (NCDMAC). This announcement follows the recent update to the North Carolina Drought Advisory, based on data from the U.S. Drought Monitor of North Carolina, issued on July 2.
Yadkin County budget approved with slight performance increase
On June 26 the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners passed its 2025 fiscal year budget with an amended increase to three percent for performance-based raises for county employees. The proposed budget initially included a two percent performance-based increase option for county staff, as well as a three and half percent cost of living adjustment increase. Public Meeting regarding the planned new county Convenience Center
Iredell County will be holding a Public Meeting regarding the planned new county Convenience Center from 5-7 p.m. on July 11 at the Harmony Community Center, 187 Highland Point Avenue, Harmony, NC 28634. The county recently purchased a 40-acre parcel of land in Harmony for the proposed center that is intended to replace the existing Harmony Convenience Center on West Memorial Highway.
