Man dies in private pond Saturday in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, Mo. (KMIZ) A 32-year-old man died in a private pond late afternoon Saturday, according to Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Gale Blomenkamp. Blomenkamp told ABC 17 News that the man was visiting friends in the 7000 block of W Sweringen Road in Harrisburg. A Boone County jury will hear opening statements this morning in a high-profile murder case that happened in 2021 in Ashland. 22-year-old Robin Morales-Sanchez is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action for the July 2021 stabbing death of 47-year-old Moises Hernandez-Sanchez in a yard. Hernandez-Sanchez worked at Ashland’s Jose Jalapeno’s and was popular with fellow employees and with customers.

In November 2022, Wilbers allegedly shot his girlfriend, Hallie Phillips. Phillips was a junior studying animal sciences in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri.

One of two Columbia residents accused of stealing from a Cooper County Walmart, then leading law enforcement from several agencies on a vehicle pursuit, pleads guilty. Anthony Jasper II, 29, pleaded guilty last week to driving with a revoked or suspended license. In exchange for his plea, a charge of stealing was dismissed. Jasper was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If he violates the conditions of his probation, he faces four years in prison.

A suspected crack dealer from Columbia is sentenced to probation. Robert Jennings was arrested in 2023 and charged with two counts of second-degree drug trafficking.
