Pennsylvania man left 'shaking' after lottery win but admits he has one big regret

A Pennsylvania man was left shaking after he won thousands of dollars in the lottery but admitted he has one big regret.

David G. from York County, walked into the Harrisburg Area Office beaming with excitement to claim his $50,000 Powerball prize. He purchased the ticket at Wawa in East Petersburg, Lancaster County on September 20, 2023.

However, the lucky winner has only one regret, stating: "I wished I would have purchased the Power Play because if I did, the prize would have been three times as much since the Power Play was three!"

He added: "But I’m still happy with this prize which will allow me to pay for a nice vacation with my family and pay off some bills."

"I scanned my ticket and it read, ‘You won $50,000!" David didn’t realize his stroke of luck right away and was in disbelief.

He added: "I’m a delivery driver, so I called my supervisor and told him that I shouldn’t be driving right now because I just won $50,000. I needed a little break. I was shaking!"

He broke the news first to his girlfriend. David recalled: "She said, ‘You have to be kidding me!’" The lottery winner is still buzzing with excitement and can't believe his luck.

He wasn't the only one who won a Pennsylvania lottery . Joan M. from York County had a thrilling visit to the Harrisburg Area Lottery Office, where she filed a claim for a massive $300,000 prize. She struck gold playing the $30 Scratch-Off game, $3 Million Mega Stacks, from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

"I was mad at the world that day," said Joan. “Everything irritated me.” However, she bought a different Scratch-Off first and won $250. With that, she decided to try the $3 Million Mega Stacks at Giant Food Stores in Dover.

Joan explained: "I scratched it and said, ‘Wait. No, this can’t be right. I kept looking at the ticket. When I scanned it, I saw that I needed a claim form. I called my daughter and said, ‘What do I do?’"

"When my mom called and said she had a big winner, I had to ask, 'How big?'" Amanda, Joan's daughter, recounted. "When she said $300,000, I was flabbergasted!" Joan, overwhelmed with joy, now plans to treat her family to a trip to Disney World and purchase a new vehicle. "I've always enjoyed the thrill of playing the Lottery," Joan added.
