    Harrisburg Gold, Renner Royals roll to state tourney

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Harrisburg Gold and the Renner Royals each picked up blowout victories to clinch their spots in the Class ‘A’ Legion baseball state tournament on Friday.

    Post 45 secured a 21-4 victory over Rapid City Post 320. Harrisburg scored five runs in the first inning, six in the second and five more in the third to claim an 16-1 lead.

    Post 307 defeated Spearfish 13-0 for its second shutout in as many days. After taking a 2-0 lead in the second, the Royals plated six in the second. They built the lead to double figures with three more in the fourth.

    Harrisburg Gold is the top seed for the state tournament and opens up against Brandon Valley Tuesday at 4 p.m.

    Renner is the third seed and takes on Yankton at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
