The Harrison man accused of shooting a teen ding-dong ditch prankster has been released on bail.

Vincent Martin, 30, has been charged with felony elevated aggravated assault, felony aggravated reckless conduct, misdemeanor discharging a firearm near a dwelling and misdemeanor discharging a firearm over a way, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday night, a group of teens playing “ding-dong ditch” came to Martin’s home on Waterford Road, where they rang his doorbell and ran away.

Martin allegedly came out of the house and began shooting at the teens “numerous times,” hitting one of them.

The teen later showed up at Bridgton Hospital with a serious but not life-threatening gunshot wound to the right calf, according to the sheriff’s office. The teen, who hasn’t been publicly identified, was treated and released.

Callers reported hearing “several gunshots and screaming” in the area of Waterford Road and Depot Street.

Deputies arrested Martin at his home and took him to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, where his bail was set at $10,000.

The sheriff’s office said Thursday morning that Martin made bail. As part of his bail conditions, Martin is prohibited from using or possessing firearms and other dangerous weapons.

The teen also was issued a cease harassment notice and a trespass warning.
