Listeria outbreak sickens at least 12 in New York
NEW YORK – At least a dozen cases of listeria have been reported across New York state in connection to a national outbreak linked to deli meat.The state Health Department said four of those cases were in New York City, two were in Suffolk County and one was in Nassau County. The remaining five cases were located in Cayuga, Dutchess, Greene, Onondaga and Oswego counties.All 12 patients had to be hospitalized. Rockwall’s Seals Graduates U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
Levi Ryan Seals, son of Drs. Scott and Shanna Seals, of Rockwall recently graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point, NY. Seals earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission in the U. S. armed forces. He also earned a Merchant Marine officer license, qualifying him to serve as an officer on any ship in the U.S. flag merchant marine. Seals is a graduate of Rockwall-Heath High School.
