Middlesboro Independent School District Announces Retirement of Superintendent
MIDDLESBORO, KY – The Middlesboro Independent School District Board of Education announces the retirement of Superintendent Waylon Allen, effective January 31, 2025. Mr. Allen has served as superintendent since 2017, overseeing significant developments and initiatives within the district. He began with the district in 2005, coming from Harlan County, and has held several key positions including Assistant Principal at MHS, Director of Transportation, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Assistant Superintendent before assuming his current role.
