Woman killed, two Hartford double shootings under investigation

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Hartford police are investigating the death of a woman in two separate double shootings.

Police say Shamyria Williams, 23, of Hartford, died at the hospital after a shooting on Cleveland Avenue around 12:50 a.m. Friday. A man who was also found at the scene has non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe they were not intended victims when two groups of people opened fire on Cleveland Avenue as Fourth of July celebrations continued into Friday morning. Three persons of interest have been identified in that case, according to police.

A double shooting happened on Seymour Street around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Two men were shot and taken to a local hospital. One of the victims is critically injured.
