Kohl’s tells corporate workers it’s time to come back to the office.
Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Kohl’s is the latest national retailer to issue a return-to-office mandate to headquarters staff. All corporate employees living within 30 miles of Menomonee Falls must start working from the office on Monday through Thursday beginning Oct. 14, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The move is designed to improve collaboration.
New Berlin eliminates ballot drop boxes for fall elections
NEW BERLIN, Wis. — The New Berlin Common Council unanimously decided against ballot drop boxes for the upcoming elections. The city, which first installed a ballot box in 2020 to reduce COVID-19 exposure, has not used them since 2022, when the Wisconsin Supreme Court limited the use of drop boxes, ruling that they could be placed only in local election clerks’ offices and that only the voter could return a ballot in person.
Hundreds of millions of dollars spent on delivering internet service yet large gaps remain
Since 2019, Wisconsin has allocated more than $345 million in state and federal funds to expand high-speed internet in the state, yet there are still more than 181,000 locations without service, according to a 2024 Governor’s Task Force on Broadband Access report released Thursday.
