Dreyer to attempt solo swim across Lake Michigan again
GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 26, 2024) – If at first you don’t succeed, you try and try again. That’s old axiom applies to Jim Dreyer, the soon-to-be 61-year-old Grand Haven ultra-marathon swimmer who failed twice last year to swim across Lake Michigan on the 25th anniversary of his initial solo effort. The two attempts from Milwaukee to Grand Haven were stymied by conditions beyond his control.

The state Legislature has formed a study committee to discuss possible reforms and restructuring of the Universities of Wisconsin. The committee includes four state lawmakers, two Republicans and two Democrats, and 14 other members, including business leaders, professors, and current and former administrators, selected by the Legislature’s Republican leadership.
