SHREWSBURY – An 18-year-old from Milford faces firearm charges after Shrewsbury police reportedly found a loaded handgun in a vehicle during a traffic stop. SHREWSBURY – Hunter, a 10-year-old German Shepherd who served as Shrewsbury’s canine officer, died unexpectedly Thursday. Hunter was handled by Patrolman Chad Chysna and served the town of Shrewsbury for eight years. He first joined the department in 2016 as an 18-month-old recruit. His role included locating narcotics and missing people. In 2023, Hunter successfully located 23 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.
