New Swim School Opening in Milford at DoubleTree Hilton
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Milford is getting a new swim school. The British Swim School is a franchised swimming and water survival skill school with more than 300 locations around the US and Canada. A Shrewsbury couple will run the Milford school from the pool at the DoubleTree Hilton-Milford. The Worcester Business Journal reports it’s a true family affair, with their daughter serving as aquatics manager and their son operations manager. You can take lessons in Milford on Monday through Thursday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Toll free: Troopers help rescue grazing horse at side of Mass. Pike in Charlton
CHARLTON — A horse that wandered to the edge of the Massachusetts Turnpike Monday morning, drawing a double-take from passing motorists, has been returned to its owner. State troopers wrangled the cooperative palomino after authorities received reports of a grazing horse to the side of the westbound lanes. A trucker from Texas joined the rescue, offering the troopers a length of rope and a helping hand.
You May Be Breaking Some of These Massachusetts Laws Without Knowing It
Massachusetts seems to have a law for everything and while it makes sense for some things others are just strange. As we all know the 4th of July recently passed and Massachusetts is the only state that has a law against consumer fireworks including buying, selling, and using. Some folks agree with this law while others think it's complete nonsense. In addition, this law doesn't seem to be enforced in Massachusetts at least not in my area. So, why even have the law if it's not being enforced? Either way, the law is the law.
Envisioning Future Holliston needs another DEI representative ASAP
The Envisioning Future Holliston Committee, which is charged with overseeing the implementation of Holliston’s Strategic Plan, has an opening for an alternate member who would focus on ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion are integrated into this work. The current representative in this area is Marlene Fine, but an alternate is needed. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be part of making our town more inclusive for those of diverse backgrounds, circumstances and experiences. The alternate would attend and participate in all meetings of the EFH Committee, which are monthly, and work with committee members and town departments over time.
