Officials evacuate area after train derails in suburban Chicago
Emergency officials ordered an evacuation after a freight train derailed in suburban Chicago on Thursday.The train derailed in the village of Matteson around 10:30 a.m., WGN-TV reported. No injuries have been reported. Workers are trying to determine whether any hazardous materials have leaked from the train. Officials ordered residents within a mile of the incident to evacuate. Dixmoor water main break repaired, mayor says
A water main break in south suburban Dixmoor has been fixed, Mayor Fitzgerald Roberts said on Friday.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. We are continuing our efforts to secure the funding we need to get a permanent resolution to these breaks.
