The Golden Eagles and coach Will Hall open the 2024 season today at Kentucky (6:45 p.m., SEC Network). It is the start of a critical season for Hall, who enters his fourth year at Southern Miss. He brought the Golden Eagles to a 7-6 record in 2022, but Southern Miss regressed to 3-9 last season.
Brock Vandagriff will quarterback the Wildcats . He is a former five-star who began his career at Georgia. Southern Miss has not revealed its quarterback, though Florida State transfer Tate Rodemaker and sophomore Ethan Crawford are both listed as the starter in the depth chart .
