Southern Miss baseball 2024 MLB Draft live updates: Track Golden Eagles who have been picked

The 2024 MLB Draft has arrived, meaning it's time for Southern Miss baseball to potentially send more players to the professionals.

However, it's no guarantee this year that a Southern Miss player is picked. Only a few Golden Eagles are listed across MLB big boards, and they are all slotted toward the end of the draft , leaving a wide range of variability.

If a Southern Miss player is chosen, it will be the fourth year in a row at least one Golden Eagle is drafted.

The draft begins with the first two rounds on Sunday (6 p.m. CT, ESPN and MLB Network) in Fort Worth, Texas. Monday will feature rounds 3-10 and Tuesday will conclude the draft with rounds 11-20. Days 2 and 3 will each begin at 1 p.m. CT and be streamed on MLB.com.

Southern Miss baseball 2024 MLB Draft picks

SS DJ Layton: Baltimore Orioles (Sixth round, No. 189)

Southern Miss signee DJ Layton was picked by the Orioles. It holds a slot value of $318,300.

P Niko Mazza: San Francisco Giants (Eighth round, No. 238)

Niko Mazza is the first 2024 Golden Eagle to be picked. His slot value is $218,600.

P Lucas Elissalt: Detroit Tigers (13th round, No. 386)

Lucas Elissalt is a junior college transfer from Chipola College. He started 15 games last season with a 4.85 ERA at Chipola College.

OF Dalton McIntyre: Atlanta Braves (19th round, No. 581)

Southern Miss' starting centerfielder Dalton McIntyre went in the 19th round to the Atlanta Braves. He starred as the Golden Eagels' leadoff batter after joining the team from Meridian Community College.
