    Hattiesburg man arrested after person shot multiple times

    HATTIESBURG, Miss. ( WHLT ) – Hattiesburg police arrested a 24-year-old man after a person was shot multiple times.

    Hattiesburg police said they were performing a security check in the 6300 block of Highway 49 around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 28. They received a call about a large crowd.

    Shortly after arriving at the scene, officers heard shots fired nearby in the 2600 block of West 7th Street. They were able to arrest the suspect, Levi Myers, of Hattiesburg.

    During their investigation, officers discovered one person had been shot multiple times. A vehicle had been struck by a single bullet. Police said the male victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

    Myers was arrested and charged with one count of shooting into a dwelling/business.

    Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests and charges are pending.
