Family Week Is This Week in Iowa
Dallas Center – Grimes athletes and coaches along with everyone in the state of Iowa will be enjoying some downtime this week with family week. Through the Iowa High School Athletics website, “Family Week” is a week in the unified activity federation calendar that prohibits any coach or teacher/student contact and any unified activity federation event from occurring. This restricted period started yesterday and will be going through this upcoming Sunday, August 4th.

Johnston police looking for man accused of killing motorcycle passenger in crash
The Johnston Police Department is looking for a Colfax man who is accused of killing his motorcycle passenger in a crash over the weekend. Police say that 44-year-old Todd Phillips crashed his motorcycle while intoxicated around midnight Saturday at the intersection of Merle Hay Road and Northwest Beaver Drive.
