(Omaha) -- One of KMAland's leading indicators still shows the region's economy stuck in the mud. Creighton University's Rural Mainstreet Index report sank below growth neutral for the 11th straight month. Police identify suspect in weekend standoff incident
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Rapids Police have identified the man charged in relation to a standoff incident that occurred Saturday evening. Police say officers had attempted to make a traffic stop around 6:12 pm, when the driver refused to stop and instead eluded officials, driving in excess of 100 mph in a 30 mph zone. The suspect eventually ran into a home on Rogers Rd NW and barricaded himself inside. The standoff ended at approximately 10:05 pm.

Mid-Prairie’s Stafford Named All-State
Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track and field star Jayden Stafford wrapped up a sensational spring on the oval, and recently received recognition from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches for his work this year. Stafford, who just completed his junior season for the Golden Hawks, was a four time All-State Selection by the IATC. He received the award in the wheelchair 100, 200, 400 and 800m events, with times of 18.46 seconds, 32.42 seconds, 1:02.90 and 2:14.15 respectively. Stafford was the state champion in all four events this spring and won the Drake Relays title in the 400m.
