Game 82: Oakland 9 @ Arizona 4
JJ Bleday - CF Ketel Marte - 2B Miguel Andujar - LF Blaze Alexander - DH Slade kept “Oakland” scoreless in the first on 19 pitches with a strikeout. Marte greeted the pitcher in green with a leadoff double. Gurriel blooped a single into left that scored Marte (AZ 1-0) and Gurriel took second on the throw. He scored on a Grichuk ground rule double (AZ 2-0). Sadly Carroll struck out to end the fun. Cecconi kept the score in the second and got three more strikeouts. Sadly, the offense also put up a zero in the second which started the third. Cecconi let the first batter (Gelof) reach on a walk. He struck out the next batter and Gelof stole second on a bad throw to second (anyone missing Moreno yet...?). He later scored on a Rooker single (AZ 2-1). Langeliers blooped Andujar home (TIE 2-2) a batter later. Slade FINALLY ended the inning with his 7th strikeout after that... The bats went down without a fight in the third (Gurriel gave one a nice ride into the centerfielder’s glove near the wall but Blaze and Walker didn’t).

PHOENIX, AZ – Boos turned into cheers for Sunny Edwards in his first visit to Arizona. It was a painful introduction, lots of bruises and no belt in a beatdown delivered by Jesse Rodriguez, who left no doubt about why he’s called “Bam” throughout a one-sided stoppage last December.
