Lake castigates media and feds, then makes her case for Senate
(The Center Square) – Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake castigated the news media about the border crisis, the federal government's failure to stem the flow of opioids into the country, and its bias against Donald Trump. Her crowd-rousing speech on Wednesday’s second day of the Republican National Convention was only seconds old when the former Phoenix news anchor said "fake news" media were not welcome at the RNC. It comes four days after the former president, seeking reelection against President Joe Biden, survived an...

This will increase our chance of seeing storms fire up off the higher terrain and Mogollon Rim, before pushing into the lower deserts.

Diamondbacks 2024 draft class draws strong reviews from pundits
R.J. Anderson – CBS Sports (A) “The Diamondbacks had five of the first 102 picks, but they did not make their initial selection until No. 29. Slade Caldwell is a toolsy, undersized outfielder. We don’t think Arizona’s front office minds — they’ve benefitted from taking chances on Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, and, dating back to their days in Boston, Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi. Getting Ryan Waldschmidt, an accomplished SEC outfielder with sparkling analytics who grew on scouts as the season progressed, at No. 31 seems like a potential steal. Throw in shortstop JD Dix, catcher Ivan Luciano, and righty Daniel Eagen, and I think the D-backs did well despite a late start.”
