Sheriff investigating death of Kansas teen in crash near lake
DOUGLAS COUNTY—A Kansas teen died in an accident near Clinton Lake in Douglas County. The victim of the crash has been identified as 17-year-old Brody Minton of Lawrence, according to a media release from the Douglas County Sheriff. Family members reported him missing on Monday and law enforcement had attempted to find him. High winds topple trees in Hays overnight
Winds in Hays topped out at 66 mph Monday night, toppling trees and breaking tree limbs. Hays received 1.75 inches of rain, according to the K-State Ag Research Center. That brings Hays to 2.14 inches of rain for July and 13.14 inches of precipitation for the year. Hays averages 14.67 inches of rain by the end of July.
