BART police say they have arrested a suspect in the killing of a woman at Powell Street Station Monday night.The 74-year-old woman was reportedly pushed by the suspect as a Millbrae-bound train approached, hitting her head on the train and falling on the platform. She was taken to the hospital and later died.She's been identified by her family as Corazon Dandan. Her nephew confirmed she was working as a telephone operator at the Marriott and this had been her commute route for the last 40 years. Person Found Hanging From Tree in Antioch Park
On Monday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a person who was found hanging from a tree in a local park. The person was discovered just before 9:00 am at Yellowstone and Calaveras Cir in the City of Antioch. Police have since cautioned off the area and aware awaiting for the county coroner to arrive on scene. A chair was tipped over next to the person.

1 killed, another injured in East Oakland shooting
One man was killed and another person was injured in a shooting in East Oakland on Monday afternoon, police said.Officers responded around 3 p.m. to the 900 block of 105th Avenue and pronounced an Oakland man with multiple apparent gunshot wounds dead on the scene, police said. Officers later learned another victim of the same shooting had been transported to a hospital in a private vehicle, police added. The victim is in stable condition, according to the last report to the police.Oakland police investigators from the department's Homicide Section are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police are withholding the name of the victim until his next of kin are notified.OPD has urged those with information regarding the shooting to contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or a tip line at (510) 238-7950. 5-month-old baby stops breathing, dies at Stanford campus apartment
A baby was announced dead Monday afternoon after officials attempted to resuscitate the child that morning on the Stanford University campus. At approximately 11:30 a.m. Monday, the Stanford University Department of Public Safety notified the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office that a 5-month-old infant was not breathing at an apartment along Barnes Court on the university's campus, sheriff's officials said.Upon arrival, first responders attempted to resuscitate the child, but the baby ended up being transported to a hospital. The baby was pronounced deceased one hour later at about 12:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office added.A preliminary investigation determined there was no foul play in the case and suggested the baby's death was an accident, sheriff's officials said.A spokesperson for the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office was not immediately available to comment further on the baby's death.
