Four area young women are running for queen of the 2024 Hayward Musky Festival. The Musky Queen Scholarship Program is presented by Hayward Dairy Queen.

The candidates will participate in interviews with the judges at a luncheon on Thursday, June 20, at Holiday Inn Express. The crowning will take place on the Main Stage downtown at 6 p.m. Friday June 21. All are welcome to attend. The candidates also will be featured in the Grand Parade on Sunday, June 23.

The girls are selling Musky Fest buttons now through the festival weekend. Each button is $1 and 100% of the proceeds benefit the scholarship program. The Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce will award the Queen a $1,200 scholarship, the first runner-up a $800 scholarship, the second runner-up a $600 scholarship, and the third runner-up a $200 scholarship.
