Brooks received 69 percent of the votes while Jasper Missy Odom had 10 percent, St. Paul’s Janie Ford got eight percent, Hewitt-Trussville’s Sara Phillips received seven percent and Spring Garden’s Ace Austin had five percent.

Update: Flash flood warning issued for North Alabama Sunday night
On Sunday at 9:02 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning in effect until 9:45 p.m. for Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties. "At 9:02 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," according to the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."

Two pedestrians fatally struck by vehicles in Madison this weekend
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Detectives are investigating two deadly crashes involving vehicles hitting pedestrians in the town of Madison over the weekend. A 48-year-old man was struck and killed by a Jeep on Gallatin Pike late Saturday night. The report states the man was found lying in the middle of the road near Walton Lane.

Warm 80s, humid and more showers/storms for Monday
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Good Monday morning. Skies are mostly cloudy out the door with warm temperatures in the lower 70s and some areas of isolated but dense fog. Some breaks in the clouds will be expected though mid to late morning and high temperatures will warm into the middle/upper 80s with a light south breeze. It will feel incredibly humid through the day with all of that Gulf moisture fueling rounds of scattered downpours and thunderstorms. Showers and storms should begin to taper off around sunset with a few isolated showers and some thunder possible overnight, lows will fall around 70 degrees by daybreak Tuesday.
Twilight 5K Results: Porter, Gosline Grab Big Wins
Mark Porter and Grace Gosline claimed top honors in the 16th annual Twilight 5K Saturday evening on the University of Alabama-Huntsville campus. Porter, of Colorado Springs, Col., won the race in 17:15 with a pace of 5:34 per mile. Athan O’Neill of Huntsville was second in 17:42, and Jude Seibert of Ardmore was just steps behind in third in 17:46.
