Defeat Finally Comes to the Prune Packers
With their first road trip of the 2024 season, the Healdsburg Prune Packers found out what it was like to lose. Twice. Carrying an 18-0 record into their June 27 game at Harry David Field in Medford, Oregon, the Pack’s luck finally ran out. The home-team Rogues, who had been defeated by the Packers the previous five games, including two on their own home field, had at last had enough.
Paul Merca’s in the House, Day 9 column–Mike Fanelli and The Wild Duck
This is a story by Paul Merca about our buddy, Mike Fanelli, who we miss very much. If you were one of Mike Fanelli’s 5000-plus Facebook friends, there was a better-than-even chance you’d receive a daily post of track and field trivia, the latest take on who ran the greatest 4 x 400 relay legs at the Penn Relays, posts on the latest sub-4 minute milers, etc.
Results from the Montgomery Village 5K Race
The Montgomery Village 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday, June 30, saw one of its largest crowds of both runners and spectators. Lining up to run, 234 runners conquered the 3.2-mile course despite some early morning rain and thick humidity. The course began and ended at Lake Marion Community Center, and the trail spanned around Lake Marion and over to Ed DeSimon Park.
