SALT LAKE CITY — Grant Fisher had already booked his ticket to Paris when he opened the U.S. Olympic trials with a win in the 10,000-meter final. The three-time American record holder who trains in Park City and runs with Run Elite Program finished first in the 5,000-meter final 13 minutes, 8.85 seconds Sunday to clinch his distance double at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Oakley’s first July 4 pickleball tournament billed as Summit County’s largest
Two hundred eighty-five players registered for the tournament, which runs July 5 and 6. The city is hosting the event at the 12 outdoor pickleball courts at the Oakley Recreation/Rodeo Complex. Built last summer, the complex is the largest dedicated pickleball facility in Summit County. In a press release, Oakley City claims the tournament is also the largest ever held in the county.
Utah’s NHL team kicks off week in Park City
Utah’s brand-new NHL team, the Utah Hockey Club, kicked off their week in Park City Monday. The club held day one of their prospect development camp at the Park City Ice Arena. 32 prospects hit the ice during two sessions Monday featuring skating, offensive and goalkeeping work. The prospects will hit the ice again Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
