Malinda Dale Rose passed away June 4, 2024, in Snowflake, Arizona. She was born February 24, 1947, in Parsons, Kansas, to Royal Dale and Betty Kathleen Mullen. Survivors include husband, Jerry Rose; sons, Jeffrey Rose (Allison) and Richard Rose; daughter, Angela Rose (John); five grandchildren, Jalen, Taren, Jason, Jordyn, and Avery; and many relatives.
"Bear Fire Update: Firefighters Achieve Progress on Containment Efforts Near Cibecue, AZ"
Resources Assigned: 10 Crews, 2 Dozers, 4 Engines, 1 Helicopter, 4 Water Tenders. Operations: Firefighters were able to achieve containment on the southeast portion of the Bear Fire yesterday. The Black Fire has been completely lined and is showing no remaining heat sources. Crews will continue to monitor perimeters around the fire and extinguish any hot spots that may threaten control lines. The Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) module was able to identify areas that were holding heat yesterday and relayed that information to firefighting resources on the ground for suppression actions. The UAS module will continue to be a vital resource to ground crews for successful firefighting activities today.
Bear Fire Update: 446 Acres Burned Near Cibecue, AZ - Firefighters Battle Rugged Terrain
Resources Assigned: 6 Crews, 1 Dozer, 4 Engines, 1 Helicopter, 4 Water Tenders. Operations: The Bear Fire is burning in rugged terrain and has thus far provided only minimal access to firefighting resources. Increased temperatures and lower humidities resulted in 30-acres of new fire growth across retardant lines yesterday. Additionally, three new fires started approximately 1 mile from the northern most edge of the main fire yesterday. The three new fire starts have been collectively designated as the Black Fire and will also be managed by the White Mountain Zone Incident Management Team. Firefighters will continue to look for access points to safely engage along the flanks of the Bear Fire today, and aerial resources will continue to be deployed to aid firefighting efforts on the ground.
Eastern Arizona wildfire grows to more than 400 acres
A wildfire in eastern Arizona on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation has grown in size and complexity since it was first reported two days ago. The Bear Fire was 438 acres in size as of Monday afternoon and is burning in pinyon-juniper and grassland about five miles southwest of the town of Cibecue.
