Valpo Council grants tax abatement for Indiana Beverage owner's new spec building
Valparaiso is looking to help a developer attract more industry to the city. The owner of Indiana Beverage plans to build a second spec building on its property off of State Road 49. The 115,000-square-foot "flex building" would be able to house anywhere from one to nine tenants, ranging from offices to manufacturing.

Alumni Team Soaks Up Experience of Representing Valpo in TBT
A special bond that unites the past and present of the Valparaiso University men’s basketball program was as clear as ever this past weekend. A Valpo alumni team, known as The Cru, competed in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), a summer event that is in its 11th season and attracts some of the best players in the world. The team was led and organized by Jason Karys, a 2017 Valpo graduate who served as a student manager, walk-on player, graduate assistant and eventually Director of Basketball Operations during his time with the Valpo men’s basketball program. He is currently an assistant coach at Stonehill College in his home state of Massachusetts. The team was coached by Valpo alumni Darryl Jackson, Darien Walker, Kendall O’Banner and Mike Brooks.
Marc Hull Named Special Teams Coordinator / Safeties Coach
The Valparaiso University football program has announced the hiring of Marc Hull, who will serve as special teams coordinator and safeties coach under head coach Landon Fox. Hull joins the Beacons from the professional coaching ranks after serving as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the United States Football League (USFL). He also owns collegiate coaching experience as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Slippery Rock University from 2015-2021.
