    USSSA Great Lakes National Softball Championships return to the Tri-State

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- This year’s USSSA Great Lakes National Championships will host teams from around the country, and is expected to attract nearly 6,000 athletes and visitors to the area.

    This years Championships will be held at Deaconess Sports Park in Evansville, Newburgh Lassie League Park, William Newman Park in Henderson, and jack Fisher Park in Owensboro. This year’s tournament includes 193 teams of fast pitch softball players ranging in ages from 8 to 18 and will last from July 8 through July 13.

    “We’re excited to be back in Evansville for the 2024 Great Lakes Nationals,” says USSSA Tournament Director, Tim Foster. “We have over 190 teams this year and we are excited to put on a good show for them.” The event is expected to generate nearly $2 million in economic impact for Evansville and the surrounding area.

    Opening ceremonies will be held today from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Deaconess Sports Park. Athletes will celebrate the kickoff of the tournament with a parade, local vendors, music, inflatables and other activities during the opening ceremony. Day pass tickets for guests are $20 and $10 for seniors or Weekend passes are $40 for adults and $20 for seniors. Children 10 and under are free.
