Two people arrested after chase through multiple counties

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Kentucky State Police and multiple other agencies helped stop a two people that led authorities on a chase through multiple counties.
Officials state Muhlenberg County Dispatch received a call from the Central City Walmart in reference to two individuals shoplifting. The Powderly and Central City Police departments attempted to stop a 2018 Toyota Camry on the Ky-189 Bypass where the pursuit started.
Officials say KSP joined the pursuit in a support capacity as well as the Greenville Police Department and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities chased the vehicle through Muhlenberg, Hopkins and McLean counties before bringing the chase to an end via a legal intervention maneuver by KSP after the driver began traveling southbound in the northbound lane into oncoming traffic on the Ky-189 Bypass.
The driver, Sean Stratton, 36 of Russellville and passenger Selexus Zamperla, 28, of Madisonville were taken into custody.
Stratton was charged with multiple offenses including speeding, fleeing or evading, theft and reckless driving. Zamperla was charged with public intoxication and theft.
Both people were booked into the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
