Reed takes Alford plea deal in tracking case
Editor's note: This story has been edited since original publication. Alex Reed’s case in court is finished for all intents and purposes. Reed, the chief of staff for Jackson Mayor Scott Conger, ended his case in Judge Kyle Atkins’ Circuit Court in Jackson when he accepted an Alford plea deal in the case.
Early Voting continues through July 27

Early Voting began on Friday, July 12, and will continue until Saturday, July 27. Early Voting polls are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. until noon. City approves use permitted on appeal ordinance for substation
The City of Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen met Thursday, July 11, in regular session, with all members present. All items on the agenda were approved, including the final reading on the “use permitted on appeal” ordinance for electric substations. The board also discussed a response from FirstBank to the city’s offer for purchase of the FirstBank North Branch property located behind City Hall.
