HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – An Upstate man was arrested for allegedly making a false report about a bomb threat at a hospital in North Carolina.

The City of Hendersonville announced that James Vigil, of Greer, was served a warrant Monday in regard to an incident at Pardee Hospital on May 18.

Officials said the Hendersonville Police Department opened an investigation after a report was made that a destructive device was inside the hospital.

Further into the investigation, detectives determined that the hospital was never in danger and identified Vigil as the suspect.

Officials said Vigil has been taken into custody where he awaits to appear in court.

Vigil acted alone during the incident according to investigators.
