A FURIOUS Walmart shopper has hit out at the retailer, claiming their checkout process is disorganized and inefficient.

The chain's reliance on self-checkout in several stores across the US has been a source of controversy for many.

Shoppers have flooded to social media to complain about understaffed stores and long self-checkout lines.

"@WalmartInc just walked out of Walmart in Hendersonville North Carolina leaving my cart behind with approximately $130 worth of merchandise and dog treats," a frustrated customer wrote on X.

"Why is it Walmart builds 18 or 19 cash registers and no one to run them?

Retailers across the US have become increasingly reliant on self-checkouts.

They are supposed to speed up customers' payments, but many are not a fan of this decision.

Some shoppers have argued that self-checkouts make the procedure more complicated.

While not all Walmart stores across the US have become dependent on self-checkouts, customers have not been impressed by these changes.

"This is why I don't go to Walmart anymore, especially getting groceries," one shopper said.

"I used to do all my shopping at Walmart with all 4 kids. The self-checkout got to be way too much for me," another wrote.

It appears that many customers want more manned registers to be opened in Walmart stores.

"Walmart is complete garbage... no cashier's and 30 ppl in line for self checkout... this place is worthless..." one angry shopper wrote on Facebook.

"What kind of customer service is this," another said.

The U.S. Sun has approached the retailer for a comment.

    GROWING DISSATISFACTION

And this is just one of the many complaints customers have had about Walmart.

People are also growing tired of the retailer's numerous anti-theft measures.

These include receipt checks and keeping items in locked cabinets.

"Walmart needs to stop harassing honest people," a shopper wrote on Facebook.

What is Walmart's Scan and Go?

Walmart's Scan and Go was made to save time for shoppers

Walmart's Scan and Go system was created to help customers scan items as they shop, pay, and leave without waiting in long checkout lines.

The retailer describes the new system to be done in a few easy steps:

    • Customers first need to have the Walmart app downloaded on their phones with their location access enabled.
    • On the Store Mode landing page, shoppers must click the Scan and Go option.
    • Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop.
    • At the end, they'll be prompted to view the cart to make sure the quantity on the app matches the ones in their carts.
    • Shoppers will press "Check Out" and head to a self-checkout kiosk.
    • They'll be prompted to scan the provided QR code at the register and confirm their payment method.
    • Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without worry.

"I showed her the receipt and she still wanted me to talk to customer service to double check my items."

Shoppers have complained that these checks are a waste of time and relatively pointless.

"All they do is take your receipt and mark it with a sharpie," another shopper said.

"They don't check your bags to make sure it matches your purchases, so it is absolutely no deterrent or solution to shoplifting."
