    ‘Artsies’ theater awards nominees announced

    The Richmond Theatre Community Circle has announced the nominees for its 16th annual Artsies awards, with 9 to 5: The Musical, BKLYN: The Musical, Into the Woods, Scrooge in Rouge and tick…tick…Boom! among the finalists for best musical.

    Awards in 21 categories will be presented during a ceremony at Virginia Rep’s November Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

    Formal attire is encouraged for the awards ceremony, which is open to the public. Tickets are $25 for orchestra seating and $30 for balcony seating and will go on sale Sept. 15. They may be purchased at that time by calling the Virginia Rep box office at (804) 282-2620. Ticket prices go up by $5 Sept. 29. All proceeds from Artsies ticket sales support the Theatre Artist Fund of Greater Richmond.
