    AUG. 12

    McCormacks Big Whisky Grill, 1420 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a food protection manager certificate; food debris found on meat grinder; temperatures of whipping cream and raw chicken in four-door lowboy are elevated; white sauce is past its expiration date; slider window on ice machine is cracked; observed buildup inside drip trays; observed grime buildup above ice machine; many dead roaches found under both three-compartment sinks in main kitchen; floor under three-compartment sinks is dirty.

    Jersey Mike’s Subs, 1420 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed heavy mold buildup in soda dispenser in lobby; temperature of lettuce in make station and next to slicer is elevated.

    Little Caesars, 1547 North Parham Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there isn’t a certified food protection manager on staff; observed buildup on pizza holder racks and walk-in cooler racks; light shield above make station is lifted; outlet cover under hand sink is lifted from wall; there is a cracked floor tile outside the walk-in cooler; observed dust buildup on ceiling throughout kitchen.

    Rico’s Mexican Grill, 2316 John Rolfe Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dried food debris found on flan dishes; temperature of cupped salsas in prep unit is elevated; observed salsas and birria previously frozen not dated in reach-in cooler; observed small flies in mop area and ants near server hand sink; tortillas are stored in contact with non-food grade grocery bags; to-go containers are stored on dirty prep and microwave surfaces; foil is lining prep surfaces; wooden planks on rack near grill are not sealed; prep and single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; outside of bins storing tortillas and taco salad bowls are dirty.

    Sheetz, 550 South Airport Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink next to drive-thru drink station doesn’t have hand soap; reach-in freezer underneath hot dog roller is broken and not being used; observed grease buildup on hood system; fan blades in walk-in fridge are dusty.

    AUG. 13

    Wing Zone, 8310 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink near three-compartment sink doesn’t have hand soap; all three hand sinks are missing paper towels; observed an infestation of small flies throughout the kitchen; observed torn wrapping on prep table shelf; observed buildup of food debris and grease on surfaces of wire racks, breading container, walk-in cooler fan system, and inside prep unit and reach-in cooler; heavy buildup of grease and debris found on fryer baskets; buildup of food debris and grime found on floor and walls throughout the kitchen and on grease trap; several light bulbs in the kitchen do not have protective shields.

    Jason’s Deli, 1700 Willow Lawn Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: prep area hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; observed black residue on shield inside ice machine; make table cutting boards are heavily scratched; some single cutting boards are scratched and stained; observed food debris and dust on walk-in cooler racks, wire racks in prep area and on portable fan.

    Poke Sushi Bowl, 6992 Forest Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: quat sanitizer concentration in three-compartment sink basin is too low; rice and ice scoops are stored with their handles in contact with product; single cutting board is heavily scratched and stained brown; cardboard is lining racks in reach-in cooler and freezer; observed heavy grime buildup inside floor drain under front dump sink.

    AUG. 14

    McDonald’s, 4423 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed food residue on clean McFlurry spindels; black mold-like substance found on inside of ice machine at drive-thru; microwave and creamer dispenser are broken and not in use; observed food debris on burger freezer, fry freezer and oil/grease disposal location; grime found under rear drive-thru ice machine; observed grease and food debris at three-compartment sink.

    Fuzzy’s Lounge, 2709 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: raw beef and shrimp stored over pasteurized shell eggs in reach-in unit; food debris and buildup found on potato masher; chicken and seafood breading mixture is stored at ambient temperature without time being tracked and no formal time control policy present; raw salmon is thawing in vacuum sealed packaging in refrigerator; make table and prep unit are not in operation because of missing hinges; aluminum foil is lining metal shelving racks; wooden shelving at the bar is unsealed; observed debris and soiling in mop sink area; two light bulbs are out in hood system.

    AUG. 15

    Ironclad Coffee Roasters, Atrium at Richmond International Airport – No violations reported during a routine inspection.

    Ironclad Coffee Roasters, Concourse B at Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: reach-in unit under oven is not in operation; three compartment sink faucet is broken and causing water to pool under the sink; observed dust buildup on top of coffee machines and around the hand wash sink.

    Ironclad Coffee Roasters, Concourse A at Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed small flies within kitchen area; a broken reach-in fridge unit is being used for bakery storage; observed food debris under reach-in fridges and in storage area.

    Cheeburger Cheeburger/Sam Adams, Concourse B at Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee is wearing bracelets and jewlery while cooking; a backflow preventer is under pressure without backflow cap; fan and air vent are dusty; ceiling tiles are discolored.

    Applebee’s, Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed a grouping of small flies at drain area behind the bar; ice maker in kitchen area is broken; walk-in storage racks are rusty; there is a gap greater than one inch within the hood system; observed food debris and grease buildup on flat top grill, fryers, and underneath and beside units; observed food debris under sinks within bar area; there is dust buildup above prep units.

    Cross Grains, Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: two employees are not wearing beard guards; cutting surfaces within kitchen area are soiled, scratched and stained; reach-in fridge next to grill has a broken gasket; plastic wrapping is still on the dishwasher; observed dust buildup along point-of-sale system cables and behind computer monitors hanging in kitchen; observed food debris on plastic drying mats in the bar area; there is a leak at the backflow preventer on the mop sink.

    McDonald’s, 5106 Nine Mile Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: fry station hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; dried food debris found in hot line microwaves; staff aren’t wearing hair restraints; reach-in coolers throughout kitchen have dirty door gaskets; burger freezer interior and door gaskets are dirty.

    Meat Wagon BBQ, 3800 Talley Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have a temperature measuring device for the dish machine.

    Eat 33, 6901 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed buildup on soda dispenser nozzles at waiter station; temperatures of several foods in two-door lowboy and reach-in cooler are elevated; floor trim next to kitchen entry door is lifted from the wall.
