    Elijah Vue's 4th birthday to be marked with event in Appleton Sunday. The boy has been missing 6 months.

    TWO RIVERS – An event to celebrate Elijah Vue 's fourth birthday is taking place Aug. 25 at Kiwanis Park in Appleton.

    The event will start at 1 p.m. and will include face painting, cake and balloon animals.

    The Two Rivers Police Department shared the event on its Facebook page and said it wanted to "assure everyone that this is a legitimate event for Elijah."

    The post said the department had gotten several inquiries about it from people who wanted to make sure it wasn't a scam.

    "The family has asked us to pass on that all are welcome attend (sic)," the post said.

    Elijah has been missing for more than six months .

    In a news release Aug. 20, Two Rivers Police Department Capt. Andrew Raatz said: “We feel it’s important for the public to know that while they might have seen us in the last several months resuming standard operations within our community such as calls for service, community events and the like, the search for Elijah and the investigation still continues and remains our priority."

    The captain added police continue to follow up on tips and leads with the help of local, state and federal law enforcement partners. He said investigators are analyzing "extensive amounts of data" from the searches.

    “We are confident that our investigation will ultimately reveal the truth of Elijah’s disappearance,” Raatz wrote.

    Elijah has been missing since Feb. 20. His mother, Katrina B. Baur, is in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail on a $15,000 bond while she faces felony charges of child neglect in relation to Elijah's disappearance.

    Jesse Vang, 39, of Two Rivers, is also facing felony charges of child neglect. He reported Elijah missing from his Two Rivers apartment Feb. 20 and was arrested on suspicion of child neglect shortly after.

    Reward money is still being offered for information leading to the discovery of Elijah or the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for his disappearance. There is a $15,000 reward through the FBI , Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers has offered a $10,000 reward, and the city of Two Rivers has offered an additional $15,000 reward, which was funded through community donations.
