    2 men arrested for series of church, business burglaries in Herndon, police say

    FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Herndon Police Department said they arrested two men for their involvement in multiple burglaries at churches and businesses over the past few weeks.

    Erik Zelaya Franco, 19, and Christian Castellanos Lopez, 23, were arrested after surveillance photos of the suspects were posted online.

    They were charged in connection to the following:

    • Two incidents at a church in the 600 block of Spring Street;
    • One incident at a church in the 800 block of Elden Street;
    • Two incidents at a business in the 500 block of Florida Avenue;
    • One incident at a separate business in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.

    Police said Franco was charged with four counts of burglary, grand larceny, felony destruction of property and other related charges. Lopez was charged with three counts of burglary and grand larceny.

    Church in Herndon broken into twice; police looking for culprits

    Detectives said the two are suspected to be involved in several burglaries in neighboring cities and counties.

    They were both taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where they remain in custody.
